Is it just me or do the Victorian Police need a lesson in framing?

It’s the new ‘drug buses’ you see. They are a roaming billboard for drugs. Written down the side of them in bold, capitalised, 2 foot high letters is ‘DRUGS‘.

The anti-smoking campaign is ‘Quit’ because ‘Don’t smoke’ just makes people want to light up.

There is also the small risk of drug crazed teenagers chasing after a drugs bus thinking they are full of drugs.

…has just resigned.

I can’t see much changing in the immediate future, but I am upset that the man that was the source of so much amusement to myself is gone and I doubt we’ll ever hear from him again.

Maybe Prodos could take over?

You know what else shits me? U2.

I’ve never liked them. They’re commercial, “radio friendly” and uninteresting. And that’s ok, really it is. What shits me is that it’s taken as a given that they are “the biggest rock band in the world”. Who decides this and on what criteria? What does this say about other bands?

Yes, they are very popular but are they really THAT popular? And if they are then shouldn’t we call them “the most popular rock band in the world”? It’s a far more realistic and objective description.

Someone said to me a little while back that they had tickets to the concert and that they were really excited about it. I said that I thought that was nice but that I didn’t care much for U2, to which they replied “Yeah, I’m not a huge fan either but it will just be great to see the biggest rock band in the world”.

When I don’t understand something it frustrates me. This “U2 phenomenon” frustrates me.

For some reason this makes me happy:

I’ve just been at home – the mother fuckers broke in again.

This time I didn’t lose much, a lost the most – a $6500 bike which he still hasn’t paid for. As I say, mother fuckers.

I lost only lost about 10 DVDs, however in amongst them was the Star Wars Box set (original Star Wars too – not any of this recent shit).

As I say, Lynchable.

I’ve spent my whole life wanting to be older than I am. Guess I just always wanted to be taken more seriously than I was. No regrets – it’s served me well.

But, at the ripe old age of 26 , you start to realise a few things in the world that seem to indicate to you that you’re getting a little old. For example, I’m not so good with heights anymore.

However a better indicator of my increasing lack of connection with the youth of today is this Emo business. It completely passed me by. One minute I’m screaming at the telly ‘Fuck off Good Charlot – you talentless bunch of anti-punk wankers’ (you see I used to have a mohawk – I was so punk, REAL punk).

Next thing I know, they’re not trying to be punk, they’re fucken Emo. What the fuck is Emo?

Anyway, after further investigation I find out that Emo is as I expected, the perfect object of ridicule. A personal fav has been this one: ‘I wish my lawn was Emo so it would cut itself.’ Further video evidence here (needs to be glassed, need I say more).

So I’m attending an anti-racist rally on Friday like a good Aussie with one of my house mates when another one of my housemates call.

He’s just got home to find the back door has been kicked in and the house has been ransacked but nothing seems to be missing.

So I return home rather quickly and sure enough everything seems to be there. First thing I check is my computer – the one thing I could never do without and with some seriously important stuff on there. It’s still there, along with some pretty hot-shit stereo equipment (if I may say so myself).

Then it dawns on me. There was about $800 sitting on my mantle piece. Sure aint there anymore. And what was next to it? My digital camera. Not there anymore.

So in total they too from the house:

1. $800 from my room
2. My digital camera
3. A housemate’s change jar – about $300
4. $200 from the Australian Centre of Democracy and Justice’s money box (still hadn’t banked from the last forum we ran and had received a few memberships and sold a T-Shirt)
5. $70 from another housemate
6. A non-house mate’s mobile phone that they had left there

Fucken lame!!!

Now I’m a humanitarian as many of you will know. I oppose capital punishment. But I am coming ’round to corporal punishment and reckon Iran is onto something with the whole cutting off thieves hands.

In good news though, I’ve put a countdown timer on the right there so you can see how long it is until the next 4th July Hot Dog eating competition.

I want to make it very clear that I didn’t give a shit about Jana Pittman six years ago and I care even less now.

Do we really have to report on EVERY single thing she does?
