Mental Health Reform in Victoria

As I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, I got a promotion. Yep, I’m officially HACSU’s Publicity and Communications Officer.

And I’d like a little support from the likes of you for the first major action associated with this promotion.

The Victorian government is current reviewing it’s mental health policy. At the moment it looks like the outcomes will increase the demand for these services, without providing the resources needed to cope with it.

We need you to let the Victorian Government know that this isn’t good enough.

Please go to www.bettermentalhealth.org.au and send an email to the Minister for Mental Health Lisa Neville, the Minister for Health Daniel Andrews and the Premier John Brumby. We need them to know that this is an issue that is important for the state of Mental Health in Victoria. Services are overstretched as it is. The current system cannot deal with a further demand increase.

Excellent initiative, I’ve sent mine in. Hope the campaign goes well.

p.s. did you know that if you accidentally enter the wrong thing in your spam capture system it deletes your comment? That’s quite annoying!

Thanks for that Kakariki. I’ll look into the capture stuff - that is a little annoying.
