Obama Anxiety
I usually save my political rants for Darkness At Noon but saint‘s comment on the previous post has provoked me to do so.
I’m really anxious that Clinton will beat Obama in the candidacy race. Obama really strikes me as a once in a generation leader who has an honesty and an integrity that the world really needs at the moment. He will disappoint me because of my high hopes, I know, but at least he has some passion and ideas. Clinton’s policies are largely identical but she is two things: (a) in bed with corporate America (the amount of money Obama has generated through “grass roots” donations certainly increases his desirability to me); and (b) she’ll just be another boring American president who maintains the status quo and nothing could be more disappointing.
I’ve never wanted to be an American but I really want to vote in this election.
Anyway, if I can’t convince you (especially you US voters) maybe Lawrence Lessig can:
And if he can’t, here’s that will.i.am thing saint mentioned:

Heh. I feel sorry for the Americans. They strike me as having the same sort of anxiety as I did at our last federal election. Multiplied by 300m!
p.s. to be truthful, while I think Clinton is better qualified of the two Dems still in the race, I can’t stand her. :-O

That’s the other thing about the debate that gets me. This notion of “qualified”. What does that mean? How can you be qualified? And wouldn’t it be an asset to have not been corrupted by your “experience”, and doesn’t serving as a Senator “qualify” you. I don’t get it.

Stumbled on your blog, thanks for posting the Lessig piece – very thoughtful oration.

Thanks for that Hammy, I’ve seen the will.i.am video and was happy to listening to the Lessig one. I’m scared too. But I’ll be voting!

Date I ask, for Clinton or Obama?
