An update

I’ve been slack lately and for that I’m sorry - truly.

So what’s been going on?

Well, I’m now the only guy living in a household of 4. The dynamics have shifted my friends, and A, if you’re reading this, please come home. Last night, while I was dusting and vacuuming my room, they were in the kitchen drinking.

We had a house inspection today (hence the cleaning) and there are threats of us being kicked out. Apparently the owner is on his last legs and they will sell the house once he’s gone. Otherwise, apart from the garden and a small hole in the wall, all was fine. I really hope the old bastard stays in there. I hate moving and the thought of trying to find a place in the current rental market is something I’m really not excited about.

However, I am excited about two recent purchases. My new Laptop (Toshiba Tecra A8 - but there’ll be another post about that soon, as well as a post on the new version of Ubuntu) and, on Hambo’s advice, a new TV. Rock n’ roll!

I had the Melbourne Social Forum a couple of weekends ago. It was the best one yet by quite a margin but I fear it will be my last as an organiser. It’s time to focus on the Australian Centre for Democracy and Justice again where some really cool things are developing.

Not least of these developments is our next forum: The Future of Community Media. It will be run by Alex Burns, editor of Disinfo. I’ve been a big fan of Disinfo for a very long time and am pleased to have now met Alex who is equally as impressive. So make sure you come down, it should be a fascinating talk.

I’m off to see Herbie Hancock tomorrow night. He’s one of my heroes, and few musicians have been anywhere near as influential. He pioneered Jazz, Funk, Fusion, Hip-Hop and Electro to name a few. I’ve absolutely no idea what he is going to play but he truly is one of the all-time greats.

I’ve also got two engagement parties this weekend. I’m only 27, why are my friends getting engaged?*

So forgive me if I’m not posting as much of late, I’ve just been run off my feet. However I’m still here and kicking on.

*You all have my blessings of course

Yep, got the exact same one and I must say I’m pretty happy with it. Also please that I got a high definition set to box some months earlier.

The mess has gone now but that massive box did take a while to get rid of.
