These exciting times that we live in

Today marks the beginning of two things I’ve eagerly anticipated for some time now.

Firstly, the Ashes are finally here. Bring on the flipper I say! It may also provide some inspiration for my, as yet unknown, as yet unpublished co-author here at Goonanism.

Secondly, this post is coming to you from a 100% Microsoft-free environment. I hope I’m not speaking to soon but I have Ubuntu (Linux) rocking it out on my computer and it is so far so good. I think I’ve even over come my media-related issues.

you think watching the ashes is fun. try not even caring about cricket, but living in a country full of impotent little boys who just want to see their team win a match or two (which they won’t!). then suddenly take an interest, just as the ashes start, if only to win a few beers. :)

p.s. ubuntu rocks, tho i think i accidently lost some work in the transfer. oops.

Ubuntu is the single greatest thing there is… other than cricket. We have a couple of Germans saying with us at the moment, one of them - having had the game fully explained to him - has really taken to it. However I suspect his major motivation is his hatred of the English. Needless to say we all get along well.
