It was 2 years ago today that Goonanism was born.
Please join in with me:
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday dear Goonanism
Happy birthday to you
It started off as a blog to track the development of my thesis, now it’s a full blown website with its own hosting and all.
I’ve finished my masters and launched the Australian Centre for Democracy and Justice.
‘Tis a wonderful thing and, 510 posts later, a time for reflection on the fate of this blog. Rest assured it’s not going anywhere. It will become a travel blog sooner rather than later I hope (I’m thinking late June).
So thanks for popping by over the years. Please stay for cheese and wine (Dinny Goonan Family Estate of course).

Congratulations! I hope that you have a cake or some sparkling wine or something equally celebratory.

Are Dinny and Susan your parents? If so, what a lucky little duck you are. And if you’re leaving late June please remember I am in the Asian vicinity……

I’ll be in Thailand in October for the World Social Forum. Why don’t you pop by and we can dance the night away.

Dinny and Sue are my parents, how did you know that? I get the Dinny part but can’t find where I mentioned Sue.
The WSF is polycentric this year with meetings in Bamako (Mali), Caracas (Venezuela), Karachi (Pakistan) and, because of the earth quakes in Pakistan, a forth one has been announced in Bangkok for October.
Be there, as the world’s activists converge on Thailand.

Fair point. Now make sure you’re in Thailand in October so we can drink together.
