Both Rock and Roll

Well I’ve cracked.  I’m suppose to be paying off the credit card.  Even had it down to about $500 at one stage – but it’s back up near the $2000 mark again.

Why?  There are any number of excuses: being robbed, Christmas and so on.

But I can only blame my self for the $200 I’ve spent on tickets in the last week.  I will be attending the following events:

  • Saul Williams (Monday night)
  • Big Day Out
  • Suicide Girls

I hearby swear to not spend another penny on tickets for the rest of summer.  Of course I say that every year.

A new hairdo

I kind of look like this at the moment:

Misfits

Only without the black leather and guitar…

And is anyone else wondering if the M(i)s Fits has anything to do with the Misfits? Perhaps that’s a bit of a stretch.

Chuck Responds – but not with a roundhouse kick

In responce to the “random facts” that are being generated in the Internet

I’m aware of the made up declarations about me that have recently begun to appear on the Internet and in emails as “Chuck Norris facts.” I’ve seen some of them. Some are funny. Some are pretty far out. Being more a student of the Wild West than the wild world of the Internet, I’m not quite sure what to make of it. It’s quite surprising. I do know that boys will be boys, and I neither take offense nor take these things too seriously. Who knows, maybe these made up one-liners will prompt young people to seek out the real facts as found in my recent autobiographical book, “Against All Odds?” They may even be interested enough to check out my novels set in the Old West, “The Justice Riders,” released this month. I’m very proud of these literary efforts.

I’ve just upgraded to WordPress 2 and my, what an attractive back end it has (pitty you can’t see it!).

If you notice any problems please leave a comment or email me at hammy[at]goonanism.com and I’ll do my best to fix it.

Now, listen to this.

Chuck

From today’s Age:

Why, in short, a guy who never uttered more than three consecutive lines of dialogue and tended to solve contentious military and law enforcement issues by, um, kicking people in the head?

Moreover:

Chuck Norris can bend irony into balloon-animal shapes.

Mothers

Without meaning to sound like I’m on some kind of band wagon, I really love my Mum a lot. It’s amazing how perceptive mothers can be.

I commented the other day to her that I was commitment-phobic. “How can you be a member of this family and afraid of commitment,” she replied.

Too true.

Václav Havel

I don’t know why I just remembered this, but if you haven’t read The Power of the Powerless by Václav Havel, I highly recommend you do. It was certainly the most influential piece he ever wrote making it well worth a read.

He went on to become the last President of Czechoslovakia and the first President of the Czech Republic.

Good times

I just got off the phone to my Man Love.

Oh how I love him.

Anyway, word on the street is that there is a better than usual chance that he’ll be moving to Melbourne in a few months.

This fills me with so much joy that I thought I’d better blog about it!

My liver is a touch concerned though so I punched it.

Father Bob

Father Bob has a blog – I am impressed.

Did you see him go Andrew Bolt? I thought Bob made him look like the twit he is.

I am a fan.

Back in Black

Ok kiddies, I’m back on board.

No doubt that it’s going to be an exciting year for all and this blog will grow into it’s own fully fledged web page.

I hope you had fun over the x-mas/new year period. I know I did and am now a little depressed at returning to work but we struggle on.
