Internet Semantics: Advice needed

Ok, so I’ve registered Goonanism.com and hammygoonan.com. Sweet. Soon I’ll purchase some hosting and move this blog there. The question is, which do I use as my primary domain name and which do I just point to my server?

Key things to consider include:

  • email address? Do I want to be hammyg@goonanism.com, me@hammygoonan.com etc?
  • Blog address? it could be goonanism.hammygoonan.com, blog.goonanism.com etc
  • Home page address?
  • Blob pointing? By which I mean, I could have hammygoonan.com as my address, then set up a forward so that goonanism.com was my blog. The problem there is that stuffs with permalinks so I’d like to avoid masked forwards.

I think two hosting plans would be excessive and not allow the integration of the two domains that I’d like, plus it’s just too expensive.

To my knowledge I can really then only “point” a domain name.

Suggestions? Anyone with technical know-how that could provide some advice on other alternatives?
